Inspired by my dad at a young age, I have always loved being in the kitchen. I was making cookies from scratch at a young age and my dad was teaching me how to make a delicious concoction out of what seemed like nothing. I traveled a lot during & after high school and decided to put myself through college with a major in Baking & Pastry (where I met my best friend & now husband, Tom.) The passion for cooking & baking (and my husband) has only grown. I really enjoy being the cook in my family, since Tom’s cooking skills consist of Ramen noodles and grilled cheese. We were blessed with a daughter, Judith (Jude) in 2014 and she is the sassy little spice to our life.
After being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age 21, I was very much about not letting it interfere with my life. Inspired by the quote “I may be chronically ill, but I am also chronically fabulous,” I came up with the name Crohnically Fabulous to play off of my Crohn’s disease. This name has become my team name for the CCFA Take Steps Walk (Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America) where I walks with friends & family to support and raise money for finding a cure for these debilitating diseases. In 2017 I underwent my first (and hopefully only!) surgery to remove a diseased part of my intestine.
The blog will follow my Life, my Crohn’s Journey, Cakes, Food, and anything else I deem fit.
